After years of challenge, woe and turmoil, am thrilled to announce that
X3D-Edit 4.0 beta release is again available!

*	https://sourceforge.net/projects/x3d/files

Multiple builds are found at this site:

*	Installer versions are provided for Windows, Mac and Linux.
*	A zip archive is provided for systems with Java JDK 17 or greater.
*	A plugin module is provided for Apache NetBeans users.

Some configuration is needed to get a current Java working, see the README
at above site.

User expectations: note that this beta release is primarily focused on
restoring lost X3D-Edit functionality. Once stability is demonstrated on
multiple platforms, we expect that authoring support for X3D4 nodes and
features will be added steadily.

Special thanks to Terry Norbraten for wrestling X3D-Edit 4.0 back into
shape.  What a heavy lift.

Have fun with X3D-Edit 4.0!  8)

all the best, Don
