[x3d-public] Looking around for new protocols

I’ve been looking around at network protocols, searching for “quic x3d” and
“new network protocols”. I an wondering how to set these things up in
standard web servers like Apache and Express.   I could do the deep dive,
but I’m wondering what the Metaverse community is focusing on?
