NetBeans has a plugin jVi, offering vi/vim functionality.

However I did not get it to install OK within NetBeans 17. YMMV.

all the best, Don

I thought I would play with neovim a bit, but I found I couldn't suspend it with ^Z, and copy and maybe paste stopped working like vim (probably neovim is designed for keyboard copy paste), or I don't know how to use it (configuration, plugins, etc.). I pretty much want /usr/ucb/vi features. I wasted a lot of time configuring my shell variables back in the day to be just right. I lost my appetite for configuration.

Good ideas all, but those aspects are part of the overall NetBeans IDE. It is highly configurable so you may find what you want there.

Also, spellchecker is going way overboard on VRML V2.0 files.

Also,

File -> File Open...

Should remember what folder it was last in. Often I don't even want to open a project...

Highlight in the editor skinCoordIndexes in HAnimJoint (and other nodes) which aren't in the skin coordIndex. Apply same logic in other areas.
