Am happy to announce an updated release of the X3D-Edit authoring tool.

   - X3D-Edit 4.0 Authoring Tool for Extensible 3D (X3D) Graphics
   - X3D-Edit is a free, open-source Extensible 3D (X3D) Graphics authoring
tool for simple high-quality authoring, editing, import/export, validation
   and viewing of X3D scenes.

Improvements in version 4.0.38:

   - Home page migrated to Web3D.org in tandem with source at Web3D github
   <https://github.com/Web3DConsortium/X3D-Edit>
   - Active plugin available within Apache NetBeans
   <https://netbeans.apache.org> Integrated Development Environment (IDE)
   - Revised plugin available at X3D Sourceforge
   <https://sourceforge.net/projects/x3d/files/>
   - Eliminated need for additional preconfiguration of NetBeans
   - Menu tuneups
   - Tested launching available X3D players: Castle Model Viewer, X3DOM,
X_ITE, FreeWRL, H3D, Instant Reality, Octaga, Xj3D, and (historic) Vivaty
   Player
   - Tested launching with multiple other support tools: Audacity, GIMP
image manipulation, Blender, bvhacker, Castle Model Converter, MeshLab,
ParaView, Seamless3D, Sunrize, Ultimaker Cura, UltraEdit, Wings3D, Wireshark
   - Tested on multiple X3D models
   - Embedded X3D Validator has been updated to include new rules in X3D
Schematron, confirmed multiple validation techniques for X3D XML encoding

Updated converters for Java, JSON, HTML5 for X3D Documentation, ClassicVRML
and VRML97, etc. etc.

Lots more capabilities noted on the home page:

   - X3D-Edit Features
   - X3D-Edit has grown in parallel to development of the X3D
Specification, testing X3D functionality throughout years of development.

Current work includes preparation for Web3D 2025 tutorial, much HAnim
activity, and W3C Web Audio API support for X3D Sound Component nodes.

Recent example model:

   - X3D Example Archives: X3D4WA, X3D for Web Authors, Chapter 04 Viewing
   Navigation, Navigation Info Example
   - Description. This example provides three Viewpoint nodes bound to
corresponding selectable NavigationInfo nodes that override navigation
modes in the Hello World example, superseding default NavigationInfo type
provided in that contained Inline model. To test this model, change
viewpoints and then try to navigate each time, noting the new navigation
   mode.
   - Information. NavigationInfo nodes have their own binding stack,
similar to Viewpoint nodes, meaning that they can be activated (bound) in
any order, but only one can be active at a given time. Cross-connecting a
custom NavigationInfo to some Viewpoints can improve user experience in
   larger scenes.
