Google IO is going on, and one of the hot topics is their realtime
updating/broadcasting firebase json database. With the json encoding in
place it might be not too hard to keep a live x3d scene as database stored
on firebase which can be populated/edited concurrently by a group while
also being experienced, ideally in VR with all updates such as moving
avatars being broadcasted.

Thinking about it, this would require thin clients around json enabled x3d
browsers or perhaps just a proto which can talk to the database and
manipulate the local scene accordingly with a script. A firebase-inline
src='firebaseurl' node which updates the scene on change events attached to
nodes in the database.
