[x3d-public] Tool search: animated DAGs in X3D. ProtoUnexpander

I’m looking for a way to animate directed acyclic graphs in X3D. I’m pretty sure that Doug Sanden gave me a simple example, which I can find. Say I want to visualize on the order of 100 nodes. What approaches would you take? Hand coding? Tool generation? Looping in a script?

Ultimately, I will be looking for repetitive patterns in the graph, and trying to PROTOize them. (The reverse of the PROTO expander).

If anyone has done protounexpanding in XML and JSON, I would be welcome to read of your work. I am somewhat familiar with creating schema from instances, but that is mostly archetyping, when I am referring to prototyping.

Thanks,

John
