We can turn that literal "python" into an ant property "$python" if you really think it is important.

Better yet might be for you to segregate and customize use of Python 2 rather than dragging it forward as your default.  I did, and note that they are up to python 3.11 now (with corresponding x3d.py support).  I will not be adding any python 2 support, not worth testing or maintaining in the library, especially since backwards-compatibility Python 2 versus Python 3 seem problematic. In your build.xml, you exec python, which is python 2 on my system. To get python3 results, I use the python3 executable (but don't add .exe).  Thanks!
